Welcome to the Newhouse Newhouse Alumni Connections (the “Site”). By accessing and using this Site, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions (the “Terms of Use”). If you do not agree with these Terms of Use, please do not use this Site.
1. Eligibility
This Site is intended for use by Newhouse School alumni, students, and authorized personnel. By using the Site, you represent and warrant that you are either a current or former student of the Newhouse School of Public Communications or an authorized user with legitimate access.
2. User Accounts
To access certain features of the Site, you may be required to create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process.
- Maintain and promptly update your account information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.
- Maintain the security of your password and accept all risks of unauthorized access to your account.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit anyone else’s use and enjoyment of the Site. Prohibited behavior includes, but is not limited to:
- Engaging in any unlawful conduct.
- Posting any defamatory, abusive, obscene, threatening, or otherwise objectionable material.
- Impersonating any person or entity or misrepresenting your affiliation with any person or entity.
- Distributing viruses or any other technologies that may harm the Site or the interests of users of the Site.
4. Content
The Site may allow you to post, upload, or otherwise contribute content (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content, but by posting, you grant Syracuse University a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and display such content.

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms of Use.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software, is the property of Newhouse School or its content suppliers and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, or exploit any portion of the Site without the express written permission of Newhouse School.
7. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites or resources. You acknowledge and agree that Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University is not responsible or liable for the availability or accuracy of such websites or resources, or for the content, products, or services on or available from those websites or resources. Links to such websites or resources do not imply any endorsement by Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
8. Disclaimers
The Site is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. Newhouse School makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, as to the operation of the Site or the information, content, or materials included on the Site. You expressly agree that your use of the Site is at your sole risk.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Newhouse School shall not be liable for any damages of any kind arising from the use of the Site, including, but not limited to, direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, and consequential damages.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Newhouse School, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including, but not limited to, reasonable legal and accounting fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Site or your violation of these Terms of Use.
11. Changes to Terms of Use
Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Your continued use of the Site after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms of Use. Please review these Terms of Use periodically for any changes.
12. Governing Law
These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of New York, without regard to its conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Syracuse, New York to resolve any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms of Use or the Site.
